Beluga receives Asia Print Award 2020

It is our pleasure and honour to receive the Silver Environmental Award of the Asian Print Award 2020.

It is our pleasure and honour to receive the Silver Environmental Award of the Asian Print Award 2020.  Being selected from the 2,000 entries from across Asia, the Enso Calendar created by Beluga, the design and innovation hub of Hung Hing, has demonstrated how creativity and sustainability can be combined into a lifestyle print product by utilizing digital printing technologies.

The Concept of the Enso Calendar:

Enso is a Japanese symbol that features a simple circular shape.  It represents the beginning and end of all things.  Everything that is consumed can be reused or recycled into something new time after time without creating any waste.

The Enso Calendar is made entirely by Gmund’s Bio Cycle papers.  The four kinds of paper that we used are made from renewable resources such as wheat straw, grass, cotton, and cannabis.  All ingredients are compostable, thus providing nutrients to grow new plants, creating an ecological cycle.  The lower part of the calendar sheet can be torn off at month end and put on the calendar stand, creating a multi-layered landscape.  At the end of the year, the complete scenery will come to life.
